2025 Sewer Open Golf Tournament

The Sewer Open Golf Tournament has been held every year since 1988. Originally hosted at a course in Glastonbury, CT and moved to Skungamaug River Club Golf in Coventry, CT since about 1995. For 2025 the Sewer Open will be held on Friday June 6th.
The tournament consists of two foursomes in scramble format on every hole for a total of 144 players for a day of networking, golf, and a picnic. There will be prizes for at various holes in on the course similar to past tournaments. We are always very appreciative of the time the volunteers give to support our event and we are always looking for volunteers.

The post golf picnic is always well attended and is a great windup to what is typically a great day. During the picnic, scholarship awards are announced, the winners of the various golf events are announced, and door prizes are raffled off due to generous donations from vendors, sponsors and attendees.
This tournament is a key fundraising event for programs that the CTWEA participates in annually. The Tee Sponsorships are used to fund the Scholarship Fund, which offers scholarships to students who will be pursuing a college degree in an environmental related field. We are happy to announce we raised $xxx for the CTWEA Scholarship Fund in 2024 through tee sponsors that will be going to four students attending college the fall. This year’s Green Sponsorships were improved to increase support for Connecticut’s Operation Challenge Team, and we were able to set a record, raising $xxx for the Operators Challenge Team. Additionally, each year during the picnic raffle tickets are sold to Win the Driver raffle. This raised an additional $xxx for the Operations Challenge Team. There are also other sponsorships that help tremendously to offset costs such as hole-in-one sponsorship, driver sponsorship, beer at the turn sponsorship, golf ball logo sponsorship. We are grateful for our vendors, which step up and sponsor these.
First time tournament director Craig Burmeister of Carlsen Systems is taking over the helm as director from Ray Bahr who has lead this event as director for 20 years.
